Last Saturday we went to the Children's Parade in downtown Dallas. My parents volunteer each year to help check tickets, so we decided to tag along. Last year, Gavin had so much fun, so I knew this year would be even better. We got down there pretty early, so Gavin had plenty of time to see the clowns, say hi to the characters, and run around A LOT. It was a really fun morning. We were all exhausted afterwards. Gavin took a really long nap that afternoon. A plus for both of us!!! :)

Happy Birthday Alligator

Oh Alligator, you have been in our family for over a year. Happy Birthday!!!! I remember when Nana bought Gavin this alligator. See, Gavin was/is terrified of the alligator at Grapevine Mills Mall. So, last Thanksgiving we thought it would be funny to buy him this little alligator and see what he did. The first time he saw it, he was scared to death. We would randomly put it next to him, or on his shoulder. I know, we are sooo mean, but it was too funny. After the five day vacation, Gavin would hold this 8 inch alligator by the tail only. He had to be certain Alligators mouth came no where near him. It didn't take long for them to become friends. Gavin plays with him at least once a day now. Did i mention this alligator cost a total of...........wait.......wait......wait for it.......one whole dollar. ONE DOLLAR!!!!!! That's it. This stupid toy, that is a must have for Gavin, cost less that the donuts we ate yesterday. Anyways, needless to say, Gavin has become quite the fan of Alligators. He loves going to see them at the zoo, and watch them on national geographic. Although, he is still terrified of the alligator at Grapevine Mills Mall. Silly boy.

Lately, Alligator takes a bath with Gavin every night. Many nights we wash him too.

He came to the BYU game with usA sleeping companion
Playing under the kitchen table Thanksgiving morning Alligator has been to: Utah, Idaho, Montana, Tennessee, Arkansas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma. Most of the time Alligator lives in Gavin's frog backpack. He also goes to church every week, eats meals, and runs many errands with us. Who knew one dollar could bring so much joy to this little boy. Happy Birthday Alligator!!!!

On Black Friday night we headed to Grapevine to ride the Polar Express. I was so excited to take Gavin. He loves Trains and watches the movie Polar Express at least once a week. Gavin was ecstatic about getting on the train.We first went in this big tent and watched a little show. It was a lot of singing and we met the conductor of the train. Then, we walked through a path surrounded by Christmas trees, and it was snowing. Once on the train we sang Christmas songs, and Santa came by to give each child a gift and hot chocolate. Gavin was so excited the entire time. He loved every minute!!!! Thank you Nana and Papa. It has been so much fun this Holiday season taking Gavin to all of these activities. Although he is a handful at times, I can't imagine my life any other way. He is full of life, personality, and energy.

Meeting Santa

After Thanksgiving Dinner we headed to Outdoor World to get pictures with Santa. They have a carousel, crafts, train, shooting games, and the best part is it's all FREE!!!! I wasn't sure how Gavin would react to Santa this year. He was so funny. He walked right up to Santa, but once he got in his lap he froze. We couldn't get him to smile for the life of us. He kept his head perfectly still, but kept darting his eyes from Santa to me. He then turned and gave Santa a hug, and walked away. Of course he loved walking around and seeing all of the animals and fish. Great way to really start off the Christmas season.

Busy Busy Bee

Helping me with a million sugar cookies. He ate soooo much doe that he wouldn't eat lunch. I know I'm horrible, but when your trying to finish a quadruple batch, all rules go out the window. Not that this picture does it justice, but he was covered head to toe in flour. Fun times for mom.About to get our grub on Thanksgiving day.
We met Tasha and her son Giovanny at the Dallas Arboretum. We were college roommates, and it is so much fun to get together now with our boys. They played great together

Nana had a birthday and of course Gavin opened all the presents, and blew out the candles. I'm so very blessed to have such an amazing mom, and unbelievable Nana. Gavin adores her.
Shawn had a birthday too this month. He turned 33 and told me all he wanted were the petit fours from Linsey's wedding. He got his wish, They were heavenly!!!!

We have been very busy lately. Getting ready for the Holidays is so much fun. I love this time of year and all the activities there are for kids. Throw in a couple of birthdays and Thanksgiving and we have had a busy month.

Halloween and Fall Carnival

Whats not to love about a elementary school carnival for a two year old??? Train ride, bounce slide, pony ride, and park, all for a total of 5 dollars. Sign us up!!!! He loved every minute at the carnival. Not a happy camper when it came time to go home. That's what I should really get a picture of. (black mail for later in his life)

Seriously, this kid has no fear. He would jump 3 or 4 times at the top and then bounce down the slide. Everyone around us kept asking how old he was. "Oh you know... 2 1/2 !!!!!"

After a good long nap we got ready for Trunk or Treat at the church. This basically was Gavin's Halloween. On Monday, we got all dressed up again, and went around the neighbor hood Trick or Treating. POINTLESS!!!!! All Gavin wanted to do was run around, and eat the candy that was all ready in his bucket. I mean really, who needs more candy when you have a huge sucker waiting to be opened. Anyways, back to Saturday night. I loved Gavin's costume this year. His father thought it was a little girly, but this is coming from a man that only wore blue, black, and white when I first met him. Shhhhh our little secret. I just wanted/needed one more year where I chose the costume. Gavin actually loved his costume this year. Why, you ask???? It's all about the wings. With those owl wings he could FLY!!!!! I can't even count how many times Shawn threw Gavin up in the air and let him "fly". Such a great dad. We had a fun night collecting candy and passing it out too.

The first time I asked Gavin if he wanted to be an owl for Halloween his response was, "what about.......a cicada?" (the insect that make all the noise on summer nights. A lot of people call them locust.) Silly boy. That costume was obviously out of the question, so an owl he became. A mighty cute one too.

BYU Football

In between all of our Halloween fun, we went to the BYU vs. TCU football game. It was held at Texas Stadium in Arlington. It is such a nice stadium. Soooo impressive!!! Gavin has become quite the football fan and really does great at the games. Any time BYU plays close to us, we have to go support our team. The weather and our seats were perfect, just couldn't pull off a win. Maybe next year!?!?!?

Pumpkin Patch/Carving Pumpkins

We had our annual pumpkin patch visit. Gavin loves this place. This year he was old enough to play on all of the bouncy houses and slides. I am so glad we just went to play and not get family pictures. Made the day completely stress free. That night we ( Shawn) carved a pumpkin. Gavin blew the candle out 100 times. He is going to be a pro by his birthday.

Football and Fall

Football and Fall go hand and hand for us lately. We spent almost every weekend in Sept and October traveling to football games. Gavin has become a pro traveler. We have loved seeing Jordan and Linsey so often. One of the weekends Jordan was playing in New Orleans, so we jumped in the car with my parents and headed out.

After the game, and while we were waiting for Jordan, Gavin rode on a Police motorcycle. The officer was so sweet to let Gavin on, wear his helmet, and turn on the lights and sirens. Gavin was in HEAVEN.

Hair

I love this kids hair right now. He has so much curl in the back. I have been debating for awhile if I should cut it and I'm so glad I did. Yes, it is still long, but we put more layers to bring out the curl. I'm not sure if I love the side part, but it's not in his eyes anymore. Thank goodness!!!! My heart melst for him. Ps. This is after story time at the library, and we are eating at McDonald's. It's our new Wednesday tradition. Good thing all Gavin likes at McDonald's is the yogurt parfait. That's right, my child doesn't like hamburgers, or fries. Weirdo!!!!

Grammamama's House

Back in December by Grandmother died. She was 98 years old. What a wonderful life she lived. Gavin loved going to see "Granmamama" as he called her. My dad was raised in that house, and I spent hours upon hours in that house too. My grandmother's house was right next to the elementary school we all attended, and only 3 blocks from our house.

I have so many fond memories of her. Everyday after school she would have a snack for us, and sometimes I would stay and play cards with her. Or we would go in her back yard and play for hours. We spent many Christmas Eve nights snuggled on her floor. She was at every Holiday, and ate at our house almost every Sunday. Yes, she was much older, and couldn't do some things, but she had story after story to tell. She lived through a lot. She loved Gavin. It made her extremely happy to see her great grandchildren.

Once she passed, the school district wanted to buy her property. It's so weird to see a parking lot and playground where I use to help weed my grandmothers rock garden. She was a wonderful woman, and raised an amazing son (my dad.) I am so grateful to her. My life has been eternally blessed being apart of his family.

Gavin loved going to "Grammamama's park." I so glad that my family can still enjoy this property. I have some many great memories and now Gavin can have them too.

BYU/Texas

While Corby and Katie were still here we hit up Austin, Tx. for the BYU vs. Texas game. Hailey flew in from Utah, and on Friday we made the 3 hour ride south. Mom got us a great hotel in walking distance from the stadium. It was perfect! We walked to dinner Friday night, went and checked out 6th street, and then Saturday was the game. We were decked out in blue all weekend. Most people were not a fan of out color choice. We had a blast. The game was great. Yes, BYU lost by one, but it was such a fun weekend. Thank you Mom and Dad!!!!!

Baby Jade

This sweet girl spent 3 weeks with us. I loved waking up each morning knowing I could play with her. Gavin was also in Heaven!!!! He loves him some "Baby Jade" or "Jaders" as he calls her. Oh, and Shawn, well lets just say he is ready for another baby and is hoping it's a girl. :) She won us over in every way. Gavin was so sweet, and gentle with her. (I was a little worried) We definitely miss loving on her. (and we kinda love her parents too)

MEMPHIS TIGERS

Over Labor Day weekend we went to Memphis, Tn. to watch Jordan play his home opener football game. Gavin LOVES airplanes!!! He was so excited to ride one.

Family Fun

All of my family came in for Linsey's wedding. We had so much fun. I love being around my Family. It pretty much is a hobby for me. If someone asked me what I wanted to do, I'd say, "go visit family." I know that makes me kind of boring, but that's just me. I love the craziness, late night talks, trying to fit every little fun thing in, and being around nieces and nephews. So, not only did we have Linsey's wedding weekend( which was perfect, and I'll blog about once we get pictures), but we also went swimming, to six flags, Burger's Lake, and the Circus. We know how to cram it all in don't we? I think we all got a total of 25 hours of sleep that week. So exhausting, but worth every single memory. Of course Gavin is in hog heaven with all of his Aunts, Uncles, and cousins to play with. I thoroughly enjoy watching Gavin build relationships with some of my favorite people. The time went by way too fast, and I can't wait til Christmas when we are back together, laughing until we cry.

Potty training blues

First off, Gavin is doing great with potty training. He has had a few accidents, like on the counter at the movie's when I was buying him some candy. Embarrassing is an understatement!!!!! For the most part though he runs up to me and says, "momma momma pee pee in the potty." He goes everywhere in underwear, and is becoming a pro. The "blues" refers to me. I hate it!! Yes, I'm glad to be done with diapers, but there are a few things I hate. One, all the potty talk. I can't stand talking about #1 or #2 all day long. Asking him if he has to go, making him go, or doing a potty dance when he does. Two, that for the most part he runs around the house in underwear or wants to be naked. At times layers are way too hard for a two year old to pull down to make it to the potty. I prefer my child to be dressed, but lately he looks like a ragamuffin. Oh well. In no time he will run and go all by himself and I won't even know it. (Can't wait)

After it rained one night Gavin wanted to go outside and play in the mud. (One of his favorite things to do). It worked great with potty training. I went out to get a couple of pictures of him covered in mud and he felt the need to show me around the backyard. Like it was my first time out there. First he cooked me breakfast.

How to keep a "Busy Boy," busy

After Graduation we went into mad packing. I had already gone through ever inch of our apartment, so everything we had left was ready to pack. It made life much easier those two weeks. Although I was very organized and started packing at the end of April, it was very hard to keep Gavin out of our way. We had plenty to do, and watching Toy Story just wasn't cutting it. So I got creative. He played with bubbles inside, went "swimming" in the ice chest, painted the windows with water, and played in the second bathroom sink for hours. There may be a little water damage but we got our full deposit back so who cares, right???? Needless to say it kept this "Busy Boy" busy.

After the medicine kicked in
After surgery He feel asleep on my shoulder. This has happen about 5 times in his life. I loved it

At home recovering...Fell asleep on the couch with a fruit snack in his mouth. This has happen all of two times in his life.

In April Gavin had surgery to have his adenoids taking out, and tubes put in. I was really nervous, and couldn't wait for the day to come and go. The day wasn't too bad. I was afraid that Gavin was going to freak out, but they have wonderful medicine for that. :) He did have a few fits after he got out of surgery, but over all did great. It was a long day, so glad it 's over. He hasn't had an ear infections since. Keeping our fingers crossed!!!!

Law School Gradutaion

We had such a fun weekend. Shawn's parents flew in, my parents and sisters came up from Texas, Kyle and Hollie drove from Tulsa, and Keisha came from Arkansas. It was quit the group!!! We went to downtown okc, ate at spaghetti warehouse, and then walked to get icecream. On sunday, we had an early BBQ lunch and then headed to graduation. It was pretty emotional for me. It just blows me away that we are done with law school, and all of Shawn's hard work has paid off. I'm sooooo proud of him. 8 years ago he said he wanted to get his degree, then head to law school, and now he is done. We loved having his parents stay with us. It was so nice to have some one on one time with them. We stayed up way too late talking each night. We were sad to see them leave. We are so grateful for all the support are families have given us. We have a few more hurdles to jump over (pass the bar, and finding a job) but we are glad to be done with school. Shawn says he never wants to walk into a classroom again.It was a weekend filled with love, lots of laughter, and even some tears

We had a great easter weekend. On Saturday night we had a ward party. Gavin loved riding the pony, playing basketball, and easter egg hunting. Then Sunday the easter bunny came to our house.

Almost everyday the weather is nice we walk and go to the park. Gavin loves going on walks, pushing the stroller, and playing at the park. He is my little dare devil. He runs and runs and runs when we are outside. I don't mind getting a little sun and exercise myself. It's a win/win situation.

Gavin's actual Birthday fell on a Tuesday this year. Tuesdays and Thursdays are Shawn's long days (8:30am-9 pm) so we decided to really celebrate his birthday when my parents came up on the weekend. I also keep a little boy on those days so it was perfect for Gavin.

Snow Week/super bowl

Last week was a snow week. The storm came in on Monday night and Shawn was out of school and work all week. Woo-hoo!!! We had 12 inches of snow and with the crazy wind snow drifts 3-5 ft high. It was crazy. It reminded me of days in Rexburg, Idaho. We loved having Shawn home. We ate, played games, went to the movies, and even played in the snow. Then on Sunday we had our own little Super Bowl party. Church was canceled so we were lazy most of the day, and then made some yummy snacks and watched the game. It was a perfect week, except for all the weight gain. :)

Month of Love

For Valentines this year I did "14 days of love" for Shawn. He gets to open one envelope each morning up until Valentines Day. Inside I have a different coupon for each day and then tell him something I love about him. Most of them are small things or acts of service. Guess you have to get creative when you're in school. Things like movie of his choice, playing xbox with him for an hour, sleeping in, weekend together. Just some things to let him know how important he is to me. It was really cheap, and took about two hours to get it all together.
Ps. Best part is I'm done thinking of something to do to make V-day special. :)

For New Years we headed to Utah. He planned to just hang out with my family for the week. Two hours after we got there, Katie's water broke, and we knew baby Jade would be here soon. She was a month early and we were all very surprised but I was sooooo excited that I happen to be there. It worked out perfectly for me.( heheh) We spent the week cuddling a tiny little girl. I loved having a baby in my arms again. Just not the same with a squirmy toddler. :) We enjoyed staying with Brent and Lori, and hanging out with Haily and Linsey too. We hardly slept! Darrin, Annie and the girls came down for our sibling Christmas and a surprise shower for Katie. We almost had all the siblings together for the weekend. (We missed you Kyle). I love love love being with my family. I was so sad to leave, and really wished we lived by them. We had a great time and can't wait to see them at Spring Break.

We had a great Christmas at Shawn's house in Montana this year. All 7 siblings were together plus kids, made for a crazy house. (31 people)!!! We loved all the sledding, ice skating, eating, late night talks, snuggling on all our nieces and nephew, eating, playing games, and tons of laughter. Gavin was super excited to play with all his cousins, and that Santa was coming. We were very blessed this year.

Meeting St. Nick

Well meeting St. Nick was a success. I talked to Gavin all day about sitting on Santas lap, not crying and Santa would give him a piece of candy. All he would say in return was "Sinta Scary." So needless to say I did not get my hopes up. But, as soon has he got on Santa's lap, he turn to him and said, "candy please." He was one happy boy. Kyle and Holly came to enjoy the fun. It was good catching up with them.

Childrens parade/ Half Marathon

Our support Team- Corby ran the last 2 miles with each of us We did it!!!!!!

The first weekend in December Gavin and I went down to Dallas for the Childrens Parade and for mom and I to run in the White Rock Half Marathon. It was my first one, and I was so excited. We trained our butts off. Well actually my butt didn't change that much, but it was a hard 12 week training. :) Gavin loved the Parade and I really enjoyed running in the half. It was such an awesome experience to do with my mom. I made it in 2 hours 48 mins. My goal was 2 hr 45 mins, and with the hills we had, I was pumped. I'm ready to sign up for my next one. It took a couple of days to recover but so worth it.

We had such a great Thanksgiving in New Mexico. Thanksgiving was with my family this year and everyone came down from utah/idaho. We had fun eating, hiking, long walks, playing football, white sands kick ball, hot tubing, games, eating some more and tons of laughing. It was a blast. I'm waiting on some pic katie took with her nice camera, but here are a few. All the cousins had so much fun together. What a cute bunch!!!

We had a great Halloween weekend. It was super busy. We went to the pumpkin patch, trunk or treat, and then trick or treating on Sunday. Plus throw in my ten year high school reunion and it was crazy. Gavin was not the biggest fan of his costume but he wore it. He loved the candy and although he knows how to say "trick or treat" he was a little too nervous walking up to strangers doors. He just wanted the candy and was out of there. Keisha came in for our high school reunion and it was so much fun having her around. It was like we were back in high school goofy as ever. Lots of wonderful talks, food, and primping. I miss living so close to her.

I'm all about dressing up for each holiday. I love getting Gavin cute outfits and pj's for the upcoming holidays. He already have his Thanksgiving pj's and a couple of Christmas ones. I mean whats cuter than holiday clothing?
On Friday we had another play group and the kids could wear their Halloween costumes. Gavin is not a big fan of his lion costume this year. I will be lucky if I can get a few pictures before he rips off his lion mane. Although we are working on him getting use to it, I didn't want the fight, so I put him in his Halloween shirt. It says,"My mummy is awesome." It was 2 dollars at crazy eight. I love that store. Then on Saturday we had a birthday party. Gavin was playing on our balcony before we left and I couldn't help but get a few pictures in his overalls. Can't believe how big he is getting. He is turning into a little boy. Makes me sad.

OKC Pumpkin patch

Gavin and I went to the pumpkin patch here in Oklahoma City. We loved it. It had a petting zoo, hay ride, pony ride, and corn maze. Gavin enjoyed running around and seeing all the animals. He was a little nervous at first, but warmed up really fast. He loved riding the pony, and kept saying "on horsey" after his turn was over. Minus the fact that he was wearing his new converse and white shirt, we had a great time with our church playgroup.

On Saturday it was a free day at the Science Museum so we took Gavin. He loved running around, seeing all the airplanes and trains. There was even a kiddie area that had a water table and huge bubbles. Fun + Free=Perfect

The weather is starting to cool off, and we have spent many days feeding the ducks. Gavin loves to go on walks and feed the ducks. It's about two miles round trip so it gives us some exercise too. Now if I can just remember to buy cheap bread at the store we would be in business. These ducks are costing me 5 dollars a week!!!However this trip instead of feeding the ducks we spent most of the time trying to keep Gavin out of the "wimming pool" as he calls it. After he tried to blow bubbles in the nasty lake water I knew it was time to go. He cried all the way home saying "bye bye ducks" "wimming pool." Poor kid. He loves the water.

My niece Tommye-Lynn came to Texas to play for a week. It was so much fun seeing her and she was such a big helper with Gavin. We played non stop. All the miller grandkids

Well, I never finished documenting our vacation. On our way home from phoenix we got a phone called letting us know that Shawns gma would be passing away soon. We really felt like we needed to be there, so we changed our GPS to boise, idaho instead of oklahoma city. It took us 22 hours but we were so glad to be there. It was a really hard week for us, and Shawn was such a support to his dad. We spent as much time as possible at the hospital with Grandma Miller before she passed. We know that she is in a better place, but will be miss by all. While we were there it was really nice to see the rest of Shawns family. The cousins loved playing together. We also got to see Darrin, Annie, Tommye and Brylee. It was a wonderful surprise. Darrin was working there, but Annie and the girls came up from pocatello. Although we didin't plan on going there this summer, it was so nice to spend some time with loved ones.

What's that/this is Gavin's favorite phrase right now. He points to everything and asks "Whats that/this." Sometimes it's "that" and other times it's "this." It cracks me up. I can not believe how much he is talking. I never thought I would be having a conversation with an 18 month old, but here is how one went today.

I just started laughing. Where does he get this? I feel like I need to record all the words he is saying. I feel like my baby is turning into a little boy and there is nothing I can do about it. How did this happen so fast.?I feel like it was just yesterday he was born, and now we are talking about the best time to add another one to the family. Time is moving way too fast. I want it to slow down. Well in some parts anyways. Shawn can go ahead and finish law school, and we can start making money instead of borrowing it :), but other than that time can stand still. I love where we are as a little family. Although law school is hard, we see Shawn way more now than we will when he begins working. He was home with us all day everyday this summer. That will never happen again. I just can't believe all the changes that are upon us. We are both ready to be out of the "school" years, but I know we will look back at this time as some of the best memories. Shawn started school on Monday and I can't get these thoughts out of my head. I know change is good and exciting but I'm a little nervous. Gavin's personality is really starting to shine. He has started folding his arms for prayers, flapping his arms (wings) when he wants his dada to throw him in the air, leading the music with his arm, and pretending to cry with his hands over his face. He is my busy little bee!!! We are loving every minute of it (well almost every minute). I do find myself taking a couple of deep breathes when I find him on top of the table playing with the water he just spilt. I wouldn't change it for the world though. We'll keep him. Here are some of the words that he is saying. I'm a bad mom and didn't write them down in order, but at least I'm documenting it before he is talking it full sentences!

We left oklahoma on July 11th to spend a few days in Ruidoso New Mexico. We had such a fun time. It was so relaxing!!! All I wanted to do is swim, walk, and work on my tan. We did just that. My parent came too. We had a great time, and really enjoyed the deer by the house.

While I was at Zumba class on Monday night, Gavin fell into a wall in our dinning room and split his head wide open. We headed to the ER and 3 hours later we came out with 3 stitches. The worst part was holding Gavin down while the doctor stitched him up. My heart broke watching him scream bloody murder. He kept yelling "Da-Da". It was really sad. But once it was over we calmed him down, and he has been back to his happy self ever since. I'm afraid this might be the first of many for this wild man. :)

Fathers Day weekend

We had a great Fathers Day weekend. It was jam packed!!! Gavin loves being at my parents house in Texas. If I would let him he would play outside all day. We went to the park, swimming, and the zoo. He loved every minute of it. Me, Mom, Hailey, and Keisha went and saw Wicked. It was amazing!!!!! My favorite so far. Then we meet back up with the boy's and headed to Olive Garden. Love those bread sticks. Sunday was church and lunch. Hailey made Shawn a shutterfly picture book of Gavin. It made him cry. Considering I've only seen Shawn cry like 5 or 6 times, it was a big deal. It made his day. It was a great weekend.

We have been really busy lately. Shawn's best friend Chris graduated from officer school in Lawton, Oklahoma. If was really fun to have Chris be so close to us for the last few months. We saw him almost every weekend. Shawn was in hog heaven. They haven't spent this much time together since their missions. It was fun for me to watch them tell all their stories and make future plans. We love that family. We have also been swimming alot. Gavin loves the the water. I think we will be in the water alot this summer. Works out great for me and my tan. :) Shawn finished up his second year of law school. One more left. Woohoo!!! We spent time in Texas watching my mom's daycare kids while they were in Europe. The last few weeks we have just been getting into a summer schedule at home. We love summer around here. Shawn is with us everyday all day.

Easter

This is sooo late, but I figured even though I couldn't get a good picture of Gavin I still needed to document his Easter. This kid will not sit still. Every time I would put the basket next to him, he would dig in. Yea, 3 hours of church trying to get him to sit on my lap is so much fun. Anyways, enough about the busy bee. We had a great Easter. We watched conference, and were pretty lazy. I don't even think we got out of our PJ's all day. Gavin of course loved his basket that the Easter Bunny left. He has been playing with the plastic eggs ever since. It was sad for me to remember last Easter when we blessed Gavin in church. He was so tiny!!! I love the stage that he is in now, but I also miss a baby being around. He is getting so funny. Here a few cute things he is doing lately.

During Shawn's spring break we went down to Texas for a few days. We had so much fun. We went to the zoo, and celebrated my 28th b-day. Linsey came down for the week too. We ate, went shopping, went to the park, and relaxed. It was a nice break for me because I had like 5 other people to help watch gavin. One month apart

Well I decided on Tues. feb. 23rd at 8:00 pm that I would go to Utah on Wed morning. Talk about spontaneous.!!! I surprised Linsey to watch her play a couple of basketball games. Gavin did great on the plane, and the day we left he REALLY started walking. I couldn't believe it!!! We got to spend the next few days playing with Linsey, Corby, Katie, Brent, Lori, Analise, Tommye, Brylee, and ofcourse Nana. We had so much. We hardly slept, and had a blast. I love going to visit family. I wish they lived closer. We really miss them. We watched two of Linsey's games, and then just hung out the rest of the time. It was a crazy trip, but so worth it.

Oh how I wish this child would take a nap with me every once in a while. It was a rainy, foggy day and I wanted him to snuggle, but no way. He has always wanted his own space, which most the time I love, but today I was a little sad he wouldn't just lay beside me like a newborn. So, I decided to sneak into his room a take a couple of pictures while he was sleeping. What is it about a baby sleeping that makes u want another one or ten for that matter? I miss having a little, tiny, cuddly baby in my arms. So sweet and innocent. Like i said it was just one of those days....A rainy, foggy day that made me reminisce.

1st Hair Cut

Gavin had his first hair cut a while back. It was the day before his birthday party in Texas. I just have not posted any pictures yet. He did really well, and his hair looks sooo much better. We just trimmed the ends, so it was above his ears. I don't want to give him a real hair cut until he is much older. I have to keep him looking like a baby as long as possible. :) Writing this post makes me wonder now where I put his baggie of baby hair. Hmmmm....I should find that!!!

Well we had a great valentines weekend. Shawn and I got to go on a movie date Sat. night. I sooooo needed that. We had so much fun walking around. I love being a mom, but sometimes you just need a night out with the hubby. Shawn gave me beautiful flowers and made his amazing cream sauce.(yummy, yummy,) It was a pretty low key day on Sunday. I made Gavin pink pancakes, and he had pink milk too. I couldn't get a very good picture of Gavin.( he wouldn't stay still). All in All we had a fun weekend. On Sat. we had Gavins birthday. It was a few days early, but I had alot of family in town for Hailey's play so we decided to go ahead and have it. It was so much fun for me to plan for this. I was a little sick to be honest. I got way into it. It was a bit over the top, but it turned out perfect. Everything I planned work out and looked exactly like I wanted. I had so much fun. It had a cupcake and #1 theme. I can't thank my mom, and family, and of course Keisha for helping me pull it off. I just can't believe he is one already. Time has just flown by. He is doing some really cute things like...trying to walk, wanting to see what we are looking at on a camera or phone, turning his head to the side to look at people, starting to cuddle more, and giving lots of kisses. He loves ducks right now, and hate's veggies. His personality is really coming out, and we love it. I know in the next few months he will really be changing. Where did my baby go (sniff sniff)??? Anyways, it was a great weekend with family and friends!!! There are tons of pic. so beware.

Ok. So, it's been awhile (like almost 7 months.) I don't have a reason for not blogging but I'm trying to do better. The summer and Fall just flew by. Shawn is half way done with law school, and gavin will be one in a few weeks. It makes me sick to be honest. I can't believe I don't have a baby anymore. Where did the time go? I'll let most the pic do the talking. We did have a wonderful Christmas break. We spent Christmas with my family in New Mexico and then went up to Montana for New Years. 2010 is going to be a great year!!!!

Since I was a little kid we have gone to Burger's Lake, and yesterday was Gavin's first time. He loves the water, and did so great. He would just lay with me on my raft, and hang out. Linsey is home for a week so we are planning as much as we can while she is here. It has been really fun having her around. She is a great Aunt, and will take Gavin anytime. I also took Gavin's four month pic. On wed. Hailey was interview by Channel four news for her service project for Cancer kids. She is going to be the Hometown hero on the 22nd. It was really cool. Well it's been a long time since I updated our blog. My only excuse is that I was teaching, and trying to be a mom and wife. Poor shawn, he got left out a lot. Enough about that. School is finally out and I could not be happier. I get to stay home with Gavin now for good!!! Yeah!!! Shawn is also out for the summer, and has started a internship down in Dallas. So much has happened since my last post. Gavin is now 13 lbs. 10 oz. I can't even believe how big he is. Here are some of the things Gavin has been up to.... Smiling and talking like crazy, rolling from his tummy to his back (I can't get him to have tummy time for the life of me. Everytime I put him on his tummy he rolls right over to his back.), he is losing more and more hair :( , looks just like shawn :), and the biggest thing is HE IS SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT. Thats right, I nurse him at 8 put him to bed by 9 and he sleeps until 6. Then goes back to sleep until 8:30-9 in the morning. It's amazing how just getting more sleep can effect your life. I love it!!! We enjoyed having some of Shawns family down for his blessing, and my fam up for Texas. Steph, Shawn's sister came down for two weeks to watch Gavin while I was working. What a wonderful blessing. We love you steph and sawyer. We are looking forward to the summer, and our trip up to Idaho/Utah. I'll let the pic do the rest of the talking.

So I've been back to work for two weeks, and time is going so slow. I've cried less and less and this past week Brent and Lori came up to watch Gavin for us. They will never know how truly grateful we are. It has been so much fun hanging out with them. Having them watch Gavin makes going to work so much better. So it's been over a month since Gavin was born. I can't believe that I have to start work in a few days. Yuck! We have had such a busy 6 weeks. We spent 6 days in Utah and Idaho (b-day present from mom and day). It was so much fun letting the rest of my family and Shawn's family meet Gavin. I learned how hard it is going to be to travel with a child or children in the future. Even with Gavin being a month old it was a bit crazy. After all the flying we were a bit tired and recovered for a few days before heading down to Texas for Shawn's spring break. It has been such a fun week. I have enjoyed laying out, working out, and sleeping in. Shawn has enjoyed playing x-box, not thinking about anything important, and planning his hike for this summer. Gavin has enjoyed sleeping, eating, and being spoiled by everyone that lives here. I also celebrated my 27th b-day. Shawn got me a GPS system for my car, and hailey and I enjoyed a massage (It was amazing, love you Hailey), but I must say the best b-day present is Gavin. He is growing so fast. He is about 7 1/2 pounds now and his little personality is really starting to show. He is starting to smile at us, and loves taking a bath. He recognizes our voices, and enjoys taking walks in his stroller. In between all our travels we spent a few weeks at home just enjoying each other. Shawn has been really busy with school so spring break was just what we needed. Although I'm not looking forward to going back to work, we have family coming for Gavin's blessing, so that will be fun. Also, it gets us closer to summer when Shawn is done with school. I love summer!!! Sorry once again I put the pictures on backwards. These are from the Utah trip. I will put pictures of spring break soon.

Well I know it's been a while since I updated and soooo much has happened. First, most importantly on Feb. 8th our little boy was born. My water broke at 1:15 am on Sunday and Gavin was born at 5:47 am. It was fast and intense, but so worth it. He was two and half weeks early and weighed 5 lbs 15 oz, and 19 1/4 inches long. He is so tiny, and I never thought we would have a baby this small. My Mom, Dad, Brent, Lori, and Hailey drove as fast as they could from Dallas and got to the hospital about 15 mins. before Gavin was here. I was so worried they wouldn't make it in time, and thrilled when they knocked on the door in between pushes. It was one of the most amazing nights of our lives!!! Shawn is such a great dad, and so much help. I'm truly blessed. We are all adjusting well to life at home, and I'm loveing being a new mom.

Also, about 3 weeks ago I had my baby shower in Dallas. It was so much fun to catch up with old and new friends. The food was amazing, I wanted tons of chocolate, and boy was there. Gavin got so many things. We are set!!! Enjoy the pictures of our new little one. They are a little out of order sorry. Still getting use to this whole blog thing. :)

33 weeks prego

So now that my wonderful sister-in -law helped me make my blog cute (thanks Katie), and taught me what to do, I wanted to give a little update. We had a wonderful Christmas in Montana with Shawn's family, and then spent a few days in Ruidoso, Nm with my family. It was so nice for Shawn to have a few weeks off. We ate way to much, and had tons of fun with our families. We are now in full baby swing and have about 6 weeks left. I can't believe it's gone by so fast. I've been feeling great, and enjoy looking prego. It's only been in the last couple of weeks that I have really popped. Shawn starts school next week, and I'm really going to miss him being around. So we planned a whole weekend of fun. Of course it will include baby things, but that's always fun for me. : )It was really hard to start back to work. I'm just not in the mood to deal with preschool kids again. I'm sure I will get back into it soon. I promise I will post more often, because lets face it, baby boy miller will be here soon, and who doesn't want to see pictures of him.

So...... I'm pretty sure I have this working. No pictures yet, but they will come soon.
It seems like I'm the only one without a blog, so I thought I would jump on board. Just to catch ya'll up here is a few things that has been happening to the Miller Mob. First, We moved from Dallas to Oklahoma City, OK. where Shawn has started his first year of law school. We are also expecting our first child in Feb. I know, I know, most of you are thinking "the first". Well, we loved the five years we had with each other, but can hardly wait to welcome the little one into our family. I can't wait to be a mommy. Plus, with Shawn in law school, I have something to keep me really busy too! :) I promise to post pictures soon.
